About Me

While staying with my mother-in-law in 1984, I wanted to learn to
crochet. My mother-in-law, my daughter and I were trying
to learn the different crochet stitches. We all tried to figure out how to
make the same vintage pineapple doily pattern. When we finished, we
each ended up with a different number of pineapples in our doily. The
amazing thing was that all of our doilies laid flat.

I didn't know it at the time, but I was about embark on a new passion
crochet. Every time I crocheted I wanted something new and a
challenge to complete. It wasn't long and I had made every thread
crochet pattern that I desired to make and could not find any more that
were up to date, that is when I started about a year later designing my
own patterns. My first designs were some flower baskets and flower
holders that I made for my sister's wedding. When we moved into our
new home, I designed some Pineapple Valances, for the three bay
windows in my living room. A friend suggested I submit my designs to
some publishers which I did, since then I have had leaflets published
with Leisure Arts, American School of Needlework, Design Original,
Coats & Clark, Mc Calls, and other Publications.

For many years I sold my designs to the publisher, but now I am selling my patterns online in pdf files.  I have found it very rewarding selling my pattern this way.  I enjoy the personal contact I have with those that crochet my patterns.

May God Bless,

Delsie Rhoades
